Important change in visitor guidelines

Dear Skidmore Community, 

As a follow-up to yesterday’s email, I write to share that, for now, the College will remain at Alert Level 2. However, effective immediately, we will implement Alert Level 3 guidelines regarding visitors to campus housing.  

• Visits of any kind are not permitted in campus housing. Students may not visit others in residence halls or apartments. Students living off campus may not be in campus housing. Students in campus housing may not visit off-campus residences.
• In addition, students living off campus are asked not to visit others living off campus in separate residences from their own.

These steps are to safeguard our entire community, especially our students. Students on campus are encouraged to utilize the multiple designated, safe outdoor spaces if they choose to gather.

Again, please exercise increased vigilance and be aware that any further increase in positive cases, among other potential factors, may necessitate a full shift to Alert Level 3.
