Your major doesn't have to become your career. I majored in management and business, but pursued a career in graphic design. It's never too late to try something new.

About Matthew

A varsity soccer player at Skidmore, Matthew works at Nike Global Football (soccer) in Portland, Oregon, where he designs jerseys and logos for countries and clubs across the world. Previously, he had the privilege of launching the visual identities of professional soccer teams New York City Football Club (NYCFC) and the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), as well as those of numerous minor league and youth clubs. He has also done work for IMG Colleges, Hypebeast, and TV Land.

As the lead art director at NYFC, Matthew was responsible for designing everything from jerseys and on-field apparel to billboards in Penn Plaza to web and print marketing collateral. He designed the club's badge and inaugural season logo, in addition to working regularly with Adidas and the club's sister company, Manchester City FC.

For the last four years, Matthew has run his own company, Matthew Wolff Design. His clients include professional sports franchises, start-ups, non-profits, musicians, blogs, and apparel companies. His work includes branding and identity development, posters, uniform design, album art, apparel, website and app design, illustration, and publication design. Noteworthy clients: Los Angeles Football Club, Hypebeast, New York City FC, the New School, TV Land, and the Women's Tennis Association.

Prior to this, Matthew gained valuable work experience as an in-house graphic designer for Upper 90 Soccer, New York City’s leading soccer store, as well as through an internship at Forest Studio NYC Inc., where he worked directly with the creative director to create branding pieces for professional sports franchises Chelsea FC, the New York Cosmos, and the Miami Marlins.

Matthew grew up in Minneapolis and London, before attending Skidmore College and Parsons the New School for Design. He says his inability to decide his favorite color haunts him.
