Welcome Letter from Beth McPhee

Welcome to Skidmore and to the beginning of what we hope will be an extraordinarily rewarding time for you! This orientation program has been planned in order to introduce you to the academic, residential, and co-curricular experiences at Skidmore and to help you make a successful transition into our community. It is essential that you participate fully in all programs.

This year, many members of the Skidmore community — faculty, staff, and students — will be coming together remotely during Orientation to give you the best possible introduction to all Skidmore has to offer. Skidmore has a vibrant community that is undergirded by its members’ shared commitments. We hope that as you participate with us in these discussions and activities you will begin to grasp the significance of Skidmore’s commitment to community-building and start to consider how you can contribute to making this community stronger

The Office of Academic Advising is always available to you beyond Transfer Orientation. I will continue to be assigned to you as a secondary advisor, and look forward to meeting with you as you work toward completing your degree at Skidmore College.

Best,

Beth McPhee

Please note: The three orientation modules contain information specific to incoming students, but there will be emails, community messages, and tasks that will require action by all members or our community
