Search begins for VP for Finance and Administration and Treasurer

April 19, 2018

To the Skidmore Community,

I write to provide an update that following the announcement that Michael West, Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer, will retire August 31, 2018, we have appointed a committee to lead a national search to fill the position.

I am chairing the search, which will begin later this month. Joshua Woodfork will assist me and Jeanne Sisson will provide administrative support. We are working with executive search consultants Steve Leo, Partner, and Matthew Bunting, Managing Associate, Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, LP.

Committee members include Charles Buchanan, Trustee; Jim Kennelly, Professor of International Business and Management, vice chair of the search committee; Sara Lagalwar, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience; Crystal Dea Moore, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Kelley Patton-Ostrander, Director of Financial Planning and Budgeting; Doug Chang, Technology Buyer and Sales Associate, Skidmore Shop, staff member; and Henry Jaffe ’18, student member.

In appointing members to the search committee, we consulted with the Faculty Executive Committee (FEC), the Committee on Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure (CAPT), the Student Government Association (SGA), and Human Resources.

We have created a search website, which requires your Skidmore login credentials. I encourage you to take an interest in this search and participate as you are able.

Thank you for your attention and for your interest.

Sincerely,

Philip A. Glotzbach
President
