Join President Philip A. Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach for a Presidential Celebration on Dec. 12 in Minneapolis. Holiday gatherings will be held in Boston, Rhode Island and Cape Cod in early December.

Men's hockey

Winter sports have kicked off for the Thoroughbreds. The ice hockey team was 1-0 entering New England Hockey Conference play. The annual Pack the Rink is scheduled for Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. against Castleton State. Other key upcoming home contests include the men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader on Nov. 23 against Middlebury.

Stewart’s Shops and Skidmore College are teaming up to introduce a Skidmore-inspired ice cream flavor in spring 2020, and we’re relying on our creative College community to help us determine the flavor and name that best represent Skidmore. Click here to vote.

Make-a-Turkey-Out-of-a-Potato Festival

On Nov. 21, students will take a break from studying to participate in a craft-making smorgasbord called 8 Tables. On Nov. 23, everyone’s invited to Family Saturday for the 17th annual Make-a-Turkey-Out-of-a-Potato Festival, a Tang tradition. 

Beatlemore Skidmania

Beatlemore Skidmania, Skidmore’s popular celebration of the Beatles’ music, turns 19 this year.  Skidmore students will perform their own interpretations of Beatles songs in three concerts Nov. 22-23, with proceeds benefiting local nonprofits. Zankel will host student concerts into December.

Jack Shear

Artist Jack Shear has presented the Tang Teaching Museum with a $500,000 gift to endow a new publications fund and is challenging others to match him. Donors can instantly double their gift to raise the endowment to $1 million. In addition, the Tang recently received $500,000 from the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, for a total of $1 million in new gifts.
