A message from Dean Bautista: SGBM online resource and information hub now available

November 5, 2021

Dear Skidmore Community,

This week, we conducted eight listening sessions with students to learn more about sexual and gender-based misconduct (SGBM) and Title IX-related topics. These conversations were sometimes tough, but they were also illuminating and productive. It’s clear we all have work to do, and we will do it together.

The sessions were led by myself and Leslie Gomez, a former sexual violence prosecutor and nationally recognized expert in higher education and SGBM issues.

In the coming weeks, we will provide more information about the outcome of these sessions, as well as information on additional educational opportunities that will be offered to our community.

We have also developed a website to serve as a hub of resources related to SGBM and Title IX. This site was set up to serve all community members concerned about sexual and gender-based misconduct on campus. We expect to add more information and resources in the days and weeks ahead, and we invite your recommendations about additional information to include.

In the meantime, I hope you will reach out to me if you have questions, concerns, or thoughts to share.

Sincerely,
Adrian Bautista, Ph.D.
Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs
