Students continued participation in the review of the College’s Title IX and SGBM policies is encouraged. An online form is now available for students to share their perspectives, feedback, and recommendations anonymously.

Staff from the Office of the Dean of Students, Health Promotion, and Title IX recently toured the new 8,000-square-foot facility of Wellspring, the domestic violence and sexual assault services resource for Saratoga County residents, in Malta and met with Executive Director Maggie Fronk.

Skidmore has developed a website to serve as a hub of resources related to sexual and gender-based misconduct (SGBM) and Title IX.

This week, we conducted eight listening sessions with students to learn more about sexual and gender-based misconduct (SGBM) and Title IX-related topics. These conversations were sometimes tough, but they were also illuminating and productive. It’s clear we all have work to do, and we will do it together.

I write this afternoon with an update regarding feedback sessions as part of our efforts to address issues around sexual and gender-based misconduct at Skidmore College. The Office of the Dean of Students will host in-person feedback sessions for current Skidmore students beginning Monday, Nov. 1, through Wednesday, Nov. 3.

As I shared last week, I am eager to collaborate with you, and indeed all members of our community, to respond to the concerns raised about sexual and gender-based misconduct on our campus. Our overarching goal is to bring about a safer, more secure, more inclusive, more welcoming community committed to respect and justice for all. I write today to share updates regarding the specific steps we are taking to listen, learn, and address these critical issues together.

The gathering outside of Case this week was a powerful moment organized by your peers to express frustration, outrage, and concerns about issues of sexual and gender-based misconduct (SGBM) on our campus and in our society. I have also followed the concerns you are sharing on social media. I hear and share these concerns and am committed to working with you to do all we can to make Skidmore a safer, more caring and justice-oriented campus.

I write today to all of you, and particularly to our students, to say clearly where we stand on sexual and gender-based harassment and violence.
