Robert Boyers, professor of English and editor of Salmagundi magazine, spoke about his recent book, “The Tyranny of Virtue: Identity, The Academy and The Hunt for Political Heresies,” at the Harvard Book Store in Cambridge, Massachusetts.Also, his hour-long conversation with Mitchell Kaplan of Books and Books in Miami — recorded in January of this year — is now available on the Books and Books website.
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, collaborated with the University of Verona, Italy, to publish the research paper“Timed Synchronization of Muscle Contraction to Heart Beat Enhances Muscle Hyperemia” in the Journal of Applied Physiology.
Jeffrey Segrave, professor and chair of the Music Department,published an article,“Citius, Altius, Fortius: Pierre de Coubertin and the emergence of the serialized modern Olympic games in
the late-nineteenth-century,” in the journal Nineteenth-Century Contexts.
