Atomic absorption spectrometry


The PerkinElmer AAnalyst 800 atomic absorption spectrometer detects the presence of various metals in aqueous solution. This instrument can be used for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of metals in a variety of samples from stream waters to acid digests of solid materials.

  • Available lamps: Ag, Al, Au, Ba, Ca, Cd, Cr, Cu Fe, Hg, K, Mg, Na, Pb, Sr, Zn

  • Quantitative determination of lead in contaminated soil, compost and plant samples
  • Analysis of local stream waters for sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and other metals
  • Solubility studies of salts in the presence of other ions
  • Analysis of various oils and organic tissues for lead and other toxic metals
  • Quantitative determination of sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium in Himalayan rock salt
  • Analysis of nutrients in water samples from hydroponics beds kept under various conditions
