From awardees Barbara Underhill Collyer ’52 to Melvis Langyintuo ’12, and from the Tang and Zankel to old Skidmore Hall downtown, alumni relived their Skidmore days—and enjoyed catching up with today's Skidmore—at Reunion. The campus was bustling with programs and informal get-togethers indoors and out. And countless special moments lit up the social mediasphere.

Cuba's Havana Lyceum Orchestra, on its debut tour to the U.S., performed at Skidmore with pianist Simone Dinnerstein this month. The Skidmore-SPAC event celebrated the release of the album Mozart in Havana, produced by Skidmore parent Adam Abeshouse, P ’14, ’16, and David Slitzky ’14, who teamed up on a special trip last year to record the orchestra at a former church in Havana. As an actor and director who feels a sense of "responsibility and stewardship" to foster creativity, mindfulness, and social change, Chris Staley ’09 came to the right place this summer: the 25th-anniversary SITI theater workshop at Skidmore.

With a Harvard M.F.A., Staley has taught SITI's Suzuki method and used it in roles ranging from Malcolm in Macbeth to Hitler in Drums in the Night to the caterpillar in Alice. With his interest in theater anthropology and the intersections of performance and cognitive science, he says he's delighted to be back at Skidmore and SITI before starting doctoral studies in the fall.
