The 2019 Stewart’s Signature Series wraps up with a performance by the Sylvia Cuenca Quintet at 8 p.m. July 9 at Zankel Music Center and literary readings with Margo Jefferson and Peg Boyers at 8 p.m. July 15 in Gannett Auditorium in Palamountain Hall. The Upbeat on the Roof series kicks off July 11 at the Tang and continues on Thursdays through August.
Programs and residencies on campus this summer include the NYS Writers Institute, Skidmore’s Summer Theater Workshop with SITI Company and Anne Bogart, NYS Summer Schools of the Arts: Ballet and Modern Dance, Camp Reece, Johns Hopkins’ Center for Talented Youth, Camp Abilities, NYS Summer Young Writers Institute, Camp Northwoods and sports camps.
Enjoy baseball outings with fellow alumni this summer. Attend a Yankees home game July 17, a Mets home game July 28 or a Red Sox home game Aug. 10. Other events include an alumni art exhibition and reception July 11 in Boston, a faculty lecture and reception Aug. 1 in Cape Cod and a Philadelphia Orchestra concert Aug. 7 at SPAC.

Women’s lacrosse standout Cas Szwajkowski ’19 picked up an All-America honor from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association as a member of its third team.
The exhibition “Beauty and Bite" opens July 20 and features art from the Tang collection that explores race, gender and sexuality. Opening Aug. 10 is the exhibition “Ree Morton: The Plant That Heals May Also Poison,” celebrating an artist who attended Skidmore in the 1950s.
Mostly Modern Festival continues June 26-28. The Skidmore Jazz Institute will feature performances on select dates July 2-12. Decoda Chamber Music will perform July 16, followed by Decoda Student Ensemble on July 19. The New York State Summer School for the Arts School of Orchestral Studies will usher in August with performances on Aug. 4 and Aug. 10.
