Skidmore Reservations

Plan your Skidmore Community event. Host a guest on campus.

As part of Skidmore College, the Surrey-Williamson Inn offers several unique and specific procedures and opportunities for current Skidmore alumni, faculty, staff, retirees and visiting prospective families.

Guestrooms for Skidmore Community members

Surrey rooms are available for internal request up to 1 year in advance. Under special circumstances, such as major college events, contact surrey@skidmore.edu to hold rooms beyond 12 months in advance.

Guests doing business with the college and/or paid for by a department are eligible for an approximately 40%-60% discount off the market rate (which varies seasonally), utilized via a department promotional code entered at check out. Please email surrey@skidmore.edu before you book for your code.

Alumni, faculty, staff, retirees and visiting parents are eligible for an approximately 20% discount off the market rate (which varies seasonally). Please indicate your college affiliation while making your reservation and your discount will be applied at the time of confirmation.

Academic year cancellations of less than 48 hours' notice will be charged a $50 fee. 

Summer cancelations of less than two weeks notice will be charge a one-night fee at the market rate. 

To secure a Skidmore Community rate, please enter a promotional code* prior to searching for rooms. In order to do so, select your reservation dates, number of guests and select "Special Rate" button. Then select "Promotional Code" and enter the code. You will then be able to search for available rooms at the internal rate.

Once rooms have been selected, proceed to "Guest Information" and "Internal Billing" details (including 3-digit SCIP number). Additionally, under "Billing Information" you must enter your Department P-card. Please note the P-Card will NOT be charged but is required to secure the room.

Charges will be posted directly to the 3-digit SCIP number provided monthly.

Reservations require the guest's name, address and guest email. For the safety and security of all guests, college policy requires the confidential key code be sent directly to the guest's email. If the guest email is not available at the time the reservation is made, enter the department contact's email. Guest emails must be updated a minimum of two weeks before arrival. Please email surrey@skidmore.edu with the reservation # or date, guest name and email as soon as it is available to ensure a seamless visit for your guest.

Upon approval, the department contact will receive a confirmation which will include the balance due. Please save or print this confirmation for your records. Click for a Sample Department Confirmation.

Upon receipt of the guest's email, the guest will receive a confirmation with directions and check-in information. No balance information will be reflected in their confirmation. Click for a Sample Guest Confirmation.

Up to 48 hours before check-in day, the guest will receive a second email with a confidential keycode to access the front door and guest room. Click for a Sample Key Code Message.

Emails will be sent from the ThinkReservations system, please check your junk mail if you do not receive it.

 

Events for Skidmore Community members

We'd love to host your department meeting or event. The Surrey's first floor can be reserved for meetings and events internally through EMS up to one year in advance.

Event specifics are subject to approval and must be discussed with the Conferences and Events team in advance to determine appropriate use of the facilities and campus resources. Special setups of the furniture are limited in nature to preserve the integrity of the space. Maximum occupancy for entire first floor cannot exceed 100 (including standing room). Please note that the inn remains locked, except during scheduled meeting or events.

Events involving food must be catered by Skidmore Dining Services. Use of outside caterers is strictly prohibited. No food is permitted to be brought in. To serve alcoholic beverages, a minimum of 30 days' notice is required to secure proper permitting.

 

Policies for Skidmore Community members

Guest rooms for those doing business with the College are given priority during the academic year. However, alumni, faculty/staff and family of students/faculty/staff are welcome to stay at the Surrey as space allows. Guests not doing business with the college will be charged sales and occupancy tax and must pay by credit card.

Event Priority is given to Skidmore College organizations and activities weekdays during the academic year; however, we welcome private, non–college-related events (i.e. Skidmore community member may book the Surrey for personal events), based on availability.

Event rental fees for personal, non-college-related events for Skidmore employees may be discounted up to 50% (exclusions apply).

Surrey will be blocked for the following major college events

  • Celebration Weekend
  • Board of Trustees meetings
  • Commencement weekend
  • Reunion weekend
  • Limited rooms are available during Saratoga Track Season
