An agenda will be emailed to you as part of your welcome registration packet. A quick template of the day is as follows:
  • A.M. Interview Block: 10a.m. - 12:30p.m. (EDT)
  • Lunch: 12:30p.m. - 1:30p.m (EDT)
  • P.M. Interview Block: 1:30p.m. - 4p.m. (EDT)

Interviews are 30 minutes in length, allowing each employer the opportunity to meet with up to eight (8) students. There are 10 minute transitions built in between the interviews to allow for a smooth transition from one virtual interview to the next.

Log in to your Handshake account. On the home dashboard all positions posted by your organization will be listed under the "jobs" section. The status of the job posted will be next to it, you will see it is either Pending, Approved or Denied.

Select the job you wish to open and then click the button that says review applicants.

Employers need to review all applications by Tuesday, March 2, 2021. If you are interested in interviewing a candidate move them to "Primary" status.

Note: You may opt to select 3-4 "Alternate" candidates. In the event a "Primary" decides to rescind interest the system will automatically open the schedule to "Alternates."

Once your job has been approved, the Career Development Center will create an Interview Schedule associated with your job posting.

On the main employer dashbord, in Handshake, under "Interview Schedule Postings" you can click on the interview schedule you wish to open.

Here you have access to view the interview schedule for the day in advance.

All schedules will be finalized and emailed to employers on Monday, March 15, 2021.

The Career Development Center will work with you to try to fill your interview schedule:

  • We can send you a resume book which will include resumes of all students registered to attend the event.
Resume books are compiled by collecting students resumes based on areas of interest. If an employer has empty spots in their interview schedule, the employers can ask the Career Development Center to share with them an available resume book pertaining to that marketing space. The employer may then find viable candidates to invite for interviews to fill those open spots.

Skidmore College encourages employers to give a reasonable time for students to respond to an offer. This decision impacts both their future professional and personal life. We ask that employers try to be flexible when working with students who may request additional time to make a decision on an offer. We ask employers who extend offers to allow students up to a six weeks, after the initial offer is made, to make a decision.
