Dates and Deadlines 

This calendar is a summary of the dates and deadlines found in the FYE Checklist for planning purposesThe FYE Checklist will open May 2nd. We recognize there may need to be adjustments due to the delay in this year's FAFSA. Please be sure to check your Skidmore email regularly for important updates.

Incoming students will receive a welcome email from the Office of the First Year Experience with next steps. Once you have read this email, please log into the FYE Checklist on the Registrar's Student System page to begin working on these next steps.

London and Opportunity Program students: You will have checklists unique to your specific program.  While there may be some overlap, please use the dates and deadlines on your checklist and program calendars.

ASAP: Create Skidmore Account and Access Your Skidmore Email

You should have received an email from Admissions with your Skidmore account creation information and instructions once your deposit was processed. If you believe your deposit has been processed and you have not recieved this email, please contact the FYE office. 

For questions about your deposit or enrollment status, please contact the Admissions office.

Technical questions should be directed to the IT Help Desk Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST.

Enroll in online tuition E-Bill
Enroll in online tuition E-Bill and add/authorize all users who will need access to your billing statement. 

May 16: Complete Academic Interest Form

May 16: Complete Scribner Seminar Selection Form
Scribner Seminar placements will be announced in early June.

May 16: Complete Expository Writing Directed Self-Placement

May 22-June 14: Complete Housing Questionnaire 
Questionnaire will be available starting May 22 and will close June 14.

May 23: Complete Quantitative Reasoning Diagnostic Placement

June 1: International Student Orientation (ISO) Program registration
F1 visa holders please sign up. U.S. citizens living abroad please contact SAS for an invitation.

 June 3 – July 15: Pre-Orientation Program registration
Pre-Orientation programs are optional, but encouraged. Need-based scholarships are available for Pre-Orientation programs.

June 3: Complete Placement Exams
See your FYE Checklist for details. 

June 3 – June 28: Summer Advising
Summer Advising takes places between June 3 – June 28. Your Summer Advisor will contact you through your Skidmore email to schedule a conversation about your academic interests and upcoming course registration. 

June 15: Enroll in installment payment plan (SCIP)
Will not apply to all students, but this is the first month you can enroll if you'll be using the installment plan.

June 25 and June 26: Course Registration 
Details and timeslots vary by students. Watch your email for information. All course registration should be completed by July 12. 

July 2-15: Complete Dining Services Employment Survey  
For students who will be working on campus their first semester. Survey will be sent via email. 

July 15:  Submit Health Forms 
If your last physical was prior to August 2023, please make an appointment now to be sure you will be able to complete the required health forms by July 15.

August 1: Academic Accomodation Requests 
Requests are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on June 1. For forms to be considered prior to the start of the semester, requests for academic accommodations must be submitted before August 1.

August 1: Enroll in or waive Health Insurance Plan
Skidmore requires that all students be covered by health insurance. Forms will be available by July 1 and must be completed before August 1. 

August 15: ID Photo Submission 
Opens July 1 and can be completed anytime before August 15. 

August 15: Fall semester bill due
Also the last day to enroll in installment payment plan (SCIP). 

Mid-August: Complete Interest in Music Lessons/Ensembles Forms
Individual program dates will vary.

August 30: Complete Health Education Courses – Alcohol Wise, Marijuana Wise, Consent & Respect
Courses open August 1 and must be completed by August 30.

August 31: Complete Reflection and Projection Letter (RAP)-Opens July 15

August (rolling): Vehicle Registration

After arrival: Minors training and Fire Safety training. Email instructions will come from Student Affairs

August: 

FINANCIAL AID AND BURSAR'S OFFICE (BILLING) 

Enroll in online tuition E-Bill and add/authorize all users who will need access to your billing statement. .

August 15: SCIP Enrollment 
By signing up for the installment plan, you can spread each semester’s costs over four equal monthly installments. 

August 15: Fall semester bill due

September 4: Optional Tuition Stabilization Plan Agreement
