"When I was a Freshman, I worked in the Dining Hall. One of the stations I was often assigned to run was the Deli where I made custom sandwiches for the students who ordered them. I learned the ropes pretty quick-I'd take the order, make the sandwich, toast the sandwich, then hand it off and tell the person to have a good day. One time, I was working a shift with a sophomore who was new to dining hall employment and I was showing him the gist to working the Deli. At a slow point of our shift, we started making small talk and he asked me what year I was. I told him I was a first year, and he looked back at me in surprise. "Really?" he said. "I never would have guessed. You have this confidence not a lot of freshman have."
