Why did you apply ED?
In my opinion, Skidmore provides not only the best education, but also the most welcoming atmosphere for international students.
Best parts of your college experience?
Since most of my classes are small, it is easy for me and other students to communicate with our professors. I especially enjoy an English class called “Food Fights,”which is taught by Professor Jorgensen.
Most surprising moments?
There are so many students who are interested in going abroad. I am actually thinking of going abroad myself, either to London or Madrid.
Advice on applying ED?
Make sure to visit the campus, feel the atmosphere, and talk with current students about what they see as the positives and negatives of Skidmore. I came to visit during my sophomore year of high school. Talking with international students was definitely important for me, since they provided a welcoming environment.
Something most people don’t know about you?
I was born in the Netherlands. I also lived in Bethesda, Maryland, for two years.
Post-Skidmore plans or dreams?
I would like to go back to Japan and live and work there for a while.
